Hurricane Katrina-Complete Devastation

Why do hurricanes have women’s names? I still haven’t figured that one out. Utter devastation in new Orleans. It is a sad story, and very sad to see all these people there suffering and trying to deal with the hurricane that hit the city. It has been a week since it happened. The city’s flood control system was made to handle a Category 3 storm; a direct hit by a Category 5 would have caused apocalyptic damage. Katrina was a Category 4 and hit the east side of New Orleans. The damage is to say the least very severe. Some neighbourhoods are still under water….why isn’t anyone rescuing them? Why isn’t sending them supplies. The situation was even worse in St. Bernard Parish to the east and along the Mississippi and Alabama coasts, where the property damage was devastating and the death toll as yet unknown. How will the poor cope with all this damage? And there are a lot of poor people in New Orleans. But the poor get clobbered every time. It takes far less than a Category 4 or 5 hurricanes to knock down their mobile homes and shotgun shacks. When an evacuation is ordered, they can’t afford airplane tickets or motel rooms to ride out the storm.

Shopping on the Internet

I have been thinking a lot lately. I have been thinking about the whole internet thing. I guess this whole new blog thing has gotten me going. I mean, ever since I started this blog I have been checking out websites many more websites. I realized that there many websites and blogs out there. Thousands if not millions. Not only websites but actual shops. I guess it has become very profitable these days. As more people go online by the day, more people will start selling and buying stuff online. I even tried ebay once but it never worked out for me. Most new and emerging entrepreneurs prefer to conduct their business on the internet. Because of the internet, entrepreneurs can now reach different countries all over the world just to advertise and sell their products or services. Its amazing how many websites there are out there. I guess that whoever wants to become a successful internet entrepreneur, you must focus on your entrepreneur website. Success is dependent on the perception, feel, and look of your site. It is therefore very important to maximize your site’s effectiveness so that more subscribers are attracted to it and in turn boost your sales. I wonder how much money is invested daily in internet and internet marketing.

Protect your eyes in the Summer

Protecting their eyes with sunglasses from the start will reduce the damage they will pay for later in life. I went out the other day, its summer here, and I noticed a ton of people wearing sunglasses. I was looking at all the people who were wearing them and it got me thinking. How many of these people wear them just to look cool? Most people who are conscious about their vision and want to protect it should wear sunglasses. However, there are certain groups of individuals that should especially wear sunglasses. Whether you are driving your own vehicle or a bus full of people, the sun can be your enemy. Picture driving westbound down the highway at 6:00 PM, coming up over a hill and being pelted in the face with the sun’s glaring rays. Never mind regular drivers, how about professional drivers…. Furthermore, children should be taught from an early age to wear sunglasses. Children, especially the very young, are constantly growing and developing in every way. This is for their safety, and the safety of others. For instance, if you drive you should always have sunglasses handy.

Get the Sun away from Your Eyes-Sunglasses

Its summer here, I went for a walk by the beach and the sun hurt my eyes. I wish I had a pair of sunglasses to war. I did some research online and I found out that anyone who spends an uncommonly large amount of time in the sun should know the advantages of sunglasses. If you are particularly interested in water sports and spend a lot of time at the beach or on a lake, you could be at greater risk than most. Surfers, water-skiers and wake boarders can testify that a good pair of protective sunglasses will save a lifetime of hardship. The sun reflecting off of the water into your eyes can intensify the damage it could do. Find a good pair of water sunglasses, which will wrap around your head and stay in place while you ride the waves. Elderly individuals are another group of people to whom eye protection should be important. As age progresses, the eyesight deteriorates in even the healthiest of eyes. Older individuals should always wear sunglasses when outside in the sun. Sunglasses won’t stop the vision from going south, but it may slow the process. One thing is certain, blinding sun in the eyes will speed it up the deterioration. i think i am going to get a pair of rayban. My brother has them and I like them.

Going to shop for Groceries

One of my favourite foods of all time is lentil soup with stuffed octopus briskets. It is a grate seaside recipe that we all in our family love to make when nearby our sea cottage in the Bahamas. We love going there all the time to eat and travel for octopus and fish briskets and dancing. When going to the Bahamas I will take my friends too. I round up the troops and we all go travelling. I started to write about shopping and now I talked about traveling. Cooking is probably one of my favourite pass times. Maybe even more than blogging. I come from a long family tradition of chefs and cooks and I like to cook and shop for food to make. Shopping for groceries is one of the things I enjoy the most. There are many reasons why I like shopping for groceries. I like to have to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and I like to cook. That’s why I like blogging that much because I can write anything I want about me and my experiences. As far as buying octopus goes you need to know a few things about it. When the octopus is catched it needs to be smashed against a rock for about 100 times to soften. In big fishing vessels they place the octopus in large beating machines. These machines are like washers, the washers we have at home. They beat the octopus so it softens. If they don’t beat it you won’t be able to eat it. I have caught an octopus once too. I did so when sky diving and fishing in Argentina.

Another boring day

Today is like every other boring day. You wake up and nothing is happening. Well that is usually what Sundays are all about. Sundays are made for rest I guess. If you have a restless spirit then no day is good for resting. I know that for a fact that every Sunday in has been boring because there is not that much to. I think I am going to go shopping later. Not on the internet but out, outside. I will visit a few shops. I have been looking for a good price on a television. A high definition television. I want to get one so I can watch my favourite show….House, on high definition. I heard that the new technology of high definition is coming out soon. They say that 1080p is much better than the current one. But they are very expensive. I will have to wait. I will go shopping but I cant spend that much money because I want to save and buy myself a new TV. I will go out and see what I can find. There are many shops here in the area so I am sure I will think of something on my way there. I will probably grab a coffee as well. I really like coffee. I drink a lot of coffee and I should cut down. But whatever the case is, we only live once so I am going to enjoy as much coffee as I can. Anyway I like this blogging thing, it is like venting. I hope someone reads my blog.

First Day Blogging

Today is a great day. It is the first day I started blogging. I have so many things to say, to write about but so little time. I want to start a blog, like a journal of my life. This is very difficult to write for me. Very hard to express myself in writing. I don’t know where to start. I want to learn more about blogging. I hear that some people even make money from blogging. I am not sure how but they do. I have read many things. To start, I don’t want this blog to be about money or anything else but my thoughts. I don’t want to pollute my thoughts with anything else meaningless. I don’t want to say too much in my first day, but I will present my thoughts in the next little while. Hope you read my blog.
